Clockwork - Squad Up EP

If you think you haven't heard of Clockwork yet, you probably have: his remix of Avicii's Levels (Listen to it here) has gained more popularity than the original, so I can guarantee you'd recognize it. So when I heard Clockwork was releasing his first EP this week, I was pretty damn excited.

“The Squad Up EP marks Clockwork’s full realization of the bass-heavy, no-frill electro sound that he has developed since he first threw himself into the dance music scene. Expect the unique marriage of heavy bass lines, thundering drum patterns, and memorable drops, representing the big room sound that is Clockwork.” via Dim Mak Records

The first track, Squad Up, is a fun electro house track with a sweet drop. The vocal mix just adds in some dude saying "raise your hands up", and the Torro Torro remix slows it down to the moombahton speed. Not the best track in my opinion, it's actually pretty boring and... slow.

Next up is Nox, which is a cool track, but what I really love is the remix by Botnek, which adds a much needed kick ass dirty dutch feel to the song.

Lastly on the EP is Hulk, which is another electro house track. But I much prefer the lovely moombahton remix of it by the one and only Dillon Francis. The drop on that one is awesome, I can't wait to try it out live at a show!

So if you don't feel like downloading the whole EP, my recommendations are definitely the original Squad Up, Botnek's version of Nox, and Dillon Francis' remix of Hulk. Downloads below. Enjoy!
